Pastor Kingsley Okonkwo Ministering:

Worry stops the flow of blessings in your life
God has commanded you not to worry.

Today's concentration will be on marriage.

Apart from worry being a sin, it actually stops you from receiving God’s best.
There are consequences for worrying.

You must be still for God to show He is God in your life - Psalms 46:10

- In a contract, you have limited sharing, in a covenant you have unlimited sharing.
- A contract is open to many people but a covenant is strictly between two people.

There’s an initiator, an acceptor & an officiator in a covenant, hence, you can’t take the laws into your hand

Genesis 2:24 (KJV)

God is not involved in any relationship, that is not a covenant relationship. The reason is because, casual relationships are not reliable, as such, you can't get the best out of that relationship.

In life, every human being have their strength and weaknesses. Your spouse should complement/cover-up for your weakness.

The major difference between a COVENANT and a CONTRACT

1. A covenant seeks the good of the other person, but in a contract, you're seeking your own. (1 Corinthians 7:32)

2. In a contract, there's limited sharing. In a covenant, there's unlimited sharing. (Genesis 2:24)

When there's an issue in the marriage, don't take laws into your hands, report him/her to the covenant officiator (God). Prayer to God concerning your relationship, is you talking to God about the relationship. (Malachi 2:14 ; 1Peter 3:7)

God is the best covenant defender. The story of Abraham in will tell you more. ( Genesis 20:1- 6)

As singles, one of the things you should look out for while choosing a spouse is someone with a covenant mindset.

How do they deal with other covenants in their life (parents, friends, family, money, job, etc)?

Check their covenant relationship with the church. Christ is the head, and the church is the body.
( 2 Corinthians 6:14 - 15)
